Muawiyah, good or bad?

Was the first umayyud caliph, Muawiyah, good or bad? Many people think he's bad because of the civil war he fought with Ali, and that he designated Yazid as caliph, while other people think of Muawiyah as good because he was the sahabah of the Prophet(sas)...But I still dont know whether he is good or bad?
