Should I go to Tunisia in August?

I've found a really good deal to go to Tunisia, more specifically, the tej Marhaba in Sousse, in August. I LOVE the photos, I have a friend from work who has been to the hotel and says it is REALLY nice and i have looked up the weather which has made me want to go even more as apparently its boiling(im a sun god) HOWEVER, with the whole political situation im unsure whether or not to go, there'll be two of us. people have told me we'll be fine if we stay within the resort/complex and in areas surrounding it and on occasions such as day trips/excursions, and it's been pointed out to me that such a famous market leading travel company would not offer this as a holiday if its not safe, however I'm still unsure whether or not to go, so any help would be appreciated, whether you just know a lot of information on the current situation in tunisia or whether you have actually been there, many thanks :)
