you have to unblock the phone. the way your phone is right now it can only be activated by sprint. now unlocking the phone takes away some of the features it varies on the phone. some only lose picture mail features on other you lose absolutely everything so all you have is a phone you can make calls on. grabbing the lock codes is not as easy as you'd think and will probably cost you so think about it before you decide.
