Why apples are scarce in India?

one reason is the required weather condtions are found only in the hilly areas of the country, so limited agricultural land, another is transport India's transport system is not the greatest and since they have to be brought from the mountains (like Kashmir) to the plains its limited another is that many of the orchards were planted at the time of the British so the trees are old and producing less fruit.
