Help with american coffee..... I need help its really imp :)?

Trish - I couldn't agree with you more. Coffee should have a nice dark brown, almost black color. Not a golden amber color. What is American coffee? I grind about 3/4 cup of coffee beans for a 10 cup pot of coffee.
