Am i supposed to tell the inland revenue if i sell my house?

My hsband sold the marital home but i was on holiday at the time so he transferred my money into my daughters bank account for me.now we are getting divorced and he wants to know if i told the inland revenue about it.i was on job seekers allowance at the time and still are.i told them abot my house money and put it down on the form.would they have parssed that on to the inland revenue or should i have done it myself.hes trying to make it look as if i was hiding the money as the divorce is getting nastyy,but that wasnt the case.can you tell me if ive done anuthing wrong?
